Jillij theme – v9.0
A new release for my theme is there.
V9.0 includes a system to quickly change the header image in the theme option menu (no more code editing) and a lot of fixes. There is no need for an Internet Explorer specific CSS which means the code is a lot cleaner (and simpler
). I have also fixed some widget related problems
Here it is :

Great theme
But when i make a Link in the editor with _blank, the theme makes a _self for the user…

But only in Firefox – with IE it is _blank *confused*

I use your theme on my site, and I love it! I just have 1 comment, really, though, and it’s nitpicky. When I’m logged in as admin, I see this:
Posted in [category] | Edit| No Comments »
There should actually be a space between “Edit” and “|” for consistency purposes. It should look like this:
Posted in [category] | Edit | No Comments »
I manually edited it in, but I just figured you might want to know. Thanks for the great theme!

Hi,
I really liked the dropdown menu you did, so I took just that and incorporated it into a site. I have it working really well in Firefox, but not in IE for some reason. The code shows up in IE for the dropdown menu as shown in the viewable source code from the browser, but there’s still no drop down effect. I’ve tested your site with IE and it works fine, so it’s something I’m doing wrong. Would you mind checking out my code?

I basically took your sidebar.php file and took just the sidebar css section from the styles.css file and made it work with my existing css file. Oh yeah, I have a “code” folder placed in the root directory with the .hoc and .htaccess files. Any thoughts?
Thanks for making a really cool dropdown menu, it looks really nice and clean. I dig the transparency effect, that’s exactly what I wanted.

From Jillij:
“Could be that behavior url prefer to have www address. I have already
seen people having problem with that.
In wordpress admin, change your home url from
groundedgroup.com
to
http://www.groundedgroup.com
”
You are the maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!! Yes, that was the problem. Once I added “www” the dropdown menu worked in IE.
Thanks again.

Is there a way to omit/remove certain links from showing up in the dropdown menu? I know it’s pulling directly from the database, I was just hoping there’s a way to not have certain links show up (as I have these links already showing up in other areas and don’t want to be redundant).
Thanks for a great dropdown menu.

Hi Jillij,
I’m using your dropdown menu again, it’s frickin’ awesome. Mucho thanks.
Anyways, now I’m trying to get it working on the right side, thus vertically not horizontally. It functions very well with FireFox this way, but not IE 6 or 7. Basically, it prevents the user from clicking on the submenu options. You can see the issue here, again with IE 6 or 7:

Any ideas on how to make this work properly when used on the side?
Thanks for your solid contributions.

I’m interested in your menu, not the theme itself. I’m adapting it on my site, and i FINALLY got it to drop down in IE6.
The problem I had was a .htaccess file inside the /code directory that somehow prevented the server from reading the htc file. Deleted it, dropdown appears.
Now if only the IE6 version would not float out at the right side ….

update: the #sidebar definition, all the way at the top, had to be changed from position:absolute to position:relative and if fits nicely into my site. IE6, FireFox, Safari etc. all work perfectly.
Thank you for this neat solution. It’s amazing how hard dropdowns can actually be
