cant see multi-pages in the sidebar

Hi, I have included the multipages widget to my wordpress (latest version). I can choose multip-pages in the list of widgets. I created two of them and gave them the Headpage IDs 1 and 2. To actually see the multipages, they need to have at least one child page - and exactly that is my problem. I have no idea, how I can get a page to be a child of a multi-page. I expected, that by default each page is each multipage's child and the Exclude field from the multipage allows to kick out some children. However, if I just choose multipages in the widgets list, I can't see anything. Is there anything more that I need to configure, or is something wrong with my installation?

Thanks, Lemming
